Fuzzy RBF Neural Network PID Controller for Drum Water Level System of Waste Microbial Biomass Boiler

Abstract

The drum water level system of waste microbial biomass boiler is a highly nonlinear plant that has false water
level and parameter instability problems. Because of this, a fuzzy neural network PID controller is proposed
based on the Radial Basis Function (RBF) in order to satisfactorily control this system. The model of the fuzzy
RBF neural network PID control is derived. The step input and disturbance input simulation experiments are
carried out based on the MATLAB/SIMULINK toolbox. The results are compared with the conventional PID
controller and the fuzzy self-tuning PID controller. The simulations show that the fuzzy RBF neural network
PID control has fast response, good robustness and strong anti-interference ability. A waste microbial biomass
boiler drum water level system is developed and an experiment is conducted. The results validate the feasibility
and practicality of the waste microbial biomass boiler drum water level control system based on the fuzzy RBF
neural network PID.
