Abstract

Peronospora parasitica is an exclusively biotrophic oomycete responsible for crucifer downy mildew, one of the
most important diseases of brassica crops worldwide. Brassicas are economically very important all over the
world, Brassica oleracea being the most cultivated species in the Western Hemisphere, whereas B. campestris
predominates Asia.
