The Effect of Ziyin Mingmu Pill on the Ultrastructure of Retina in Rats with Light Injury

Abstract

To explore the effect of Ziyin Mingmu pill on the ultrastructure of retina in rats with light injury, and analyze its
target and mechanism. 60 rats were randomly divided into two groups, 30 rats in each group. The control group
was fed with normal feeding every day, and the observation group was fed with Ziyin Mingmu pill. After 2
weeks, the retina of rats was removed. The pathological changes of retina, the activities of total superoxide
dismutase (T-SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH PX), catalase (CAT) and the content of malondialdehyde
(MDA) were compared between the two groups. Compared with the control group, the pathological morphology
of retina in the observation group was significantly reduced, and the difference was statistically significant (P <
0.05). Compared with the control group, the total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) of the observation group
increased significantly, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group,
the glutathione peroxidase (GSH PX) in the observation group increased significantly, the difference was
statistically significant (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the activity of catalase (CAT) in the
observation group increased significantly (P < 0.05). Ziyin Mingmu pill can improve the damage of retina
ultrastructure, inhibit the oxidative damage of retina and repair the visual function.
